How long do repairs take?
Repair time varies for each job but here is a basic guideline for most repairs
- Bumper repairs normally take about 1-3 days – this includes removing and or replacing the old bumper, painting the new bumper, waiting for the paint to cure and fitting the new bumper.
- Other minor repairs (up to 3 panels) – generally take about one week
- Large repairs including quarter panel damage, sill panels and big front end damages generally take 1-2wks.
- Towin or drive ins – for cars that are left with us when unsafe to drive we estimate a 4-6wk turn around. Before we can work on a car we need to prepare the estimate (1-2days), wait for the authority from the insurance (up to one week), wait for parts to arrive (can be from a couple of days to 6 weeks) and then repair the car in between the cars already scheduled in.
When things go wrong, repairs could take longer. When this happens we will contact you to let you know. Here is some reasons why:
- Parts delay or additional damage found. Sometimes there is unseen damage and we need to order new parts.
- We are not happy with repairs or paint and decide to do it again.
- Unforeseen events such as staff absences or other emergencies.
Each week we have about ten cars come into our workshop, so we can keep all our employees busy. This means that cars will interchange through each section. There could be short periods where we won’t be working on your car.
We do our best to keep our clients well informed and use 1q1 to provide our clients with automatic updates but are happy for you to call at anytime.
