How to make an insurance claim

Some people may be fortunate enough to never have to make a claim, but most of us will need to at some stage.

When you have an accident one of your first steps should include contacting your insurance company.

However, safety first:

  • If you can, make sure your car is safely out the way of other traffic
  • Check if emergency service need to be called (no one hurt, danger or fire or electricity poles down)

These days you can either make a claim online or by calling and speaking to an insurance agent

Before you call, make sure you have on hand:

  • Your policy details
  • Accident details
  • Third party details (the person you hit or hit you if appropriate)

Once you have your claim number, just come to Busselton Panel and Paint to get an estimate on the damages and we will take it from there.

Your repairer can:

  • Contact your insurance with the estimate details
  • Get the authority to repair your car and
  • Book your car in to start repairs

These days most insurance companies only require you to get one estimate.
